In cooperation with world-class Belgian carpet manufacturer BIC Carpets, Edward van Vliet launched a series of flat woven rugs with a wonderful range of intricate designs. Inspired on Asian themes and mythology, the dragons and koi seamlessly flow into a landscape of abstract, geometrical shapes, hinting of mantras and flower petals. Next to the jubilant Tattoo Koi, Tattoo Dragon and Tattoo Hexagon designs, the series envelops a range of rugs with a more subtle rhythm, showing patterns related to astronomical discovery and seafaring.
The rugs are designed to be used in a modular fashion; without traditional borders, they can be mixed and matched freely. The use of strong, yet lightweight acrylic chenille allows the designs to be thin enough to allow for overlapping compositions on floors, application on walls and, because of their durability, even outside on terraces and patio’s.
